PURPOSE:

To develop, implement and maintain methodology, tool(s) and environment(s) for QA testing for development projects. QA testing will include functional testing, integrated testing, performance and regression testing.

DUTIES:

Responsible for functional system/integrated testing of software delivered from Applications Support and Development as well as external vendors. Assists with all system testing efforts such as writing test plans, strategies and test evaluations. Creates test cases, test scenarios and scripts in support of business functional requirements. Executes each script to identify and report defects prior to product delivery.

Provides support for User Acceptance Testing.

Performs duties delegated by the Project Leader on behalf of the departments. Reports to Project Leader regarding current status of assignments.

Must be proficient in test methodology and able to plan and execute test scripts. Work with the Application programmers to resolve defects identified during the system tests. Work closely with developers to define, research, correct and retest defects.

Work with the Operations Departments to interpret the test needs as requirements are being developed. Work with Operations Departments to ensure the standard of testing supports the business needs.

Assist Application and Development with stress and performance testing.

Proven ability with manual testing, testing tools and writing test cases.

Provide technical assistance to QA tester I on testing methodology and testing tools. Work with minimal supervision.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have four year degree, or CCUE Certification and 5 consecutive years of full time SECU service, or Associate of Arts degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) and 5 consecutive years of full time SECU service, or IS technical certification.

Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with software/integrated testing.

Must possess good communication skills and must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Must be able to speak English fluently.

Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers.

Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.

JOB ENVIRONMENT:

Office setting with physical proximity to other employees. Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.

Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information and use of peripheral devices needed for testing applications.

Use hands and fingers to press telephone key pad and lift telephone receiver.

Must be able to comprehend phone calls.

Must be able to lift 5 pounds
