Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.

Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

* Answers telephones; provides assistance, requested documents and information; refers callers to other staff members as appropriate; and takes messages.

* Greets and directs visitors, as and when appropriate; resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning activities.

* Performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of department functions, including but not limited to establishing and maintaining files and maintaining computer record-keeping functions.

* Assist customers and other department employees by responding to questions.

* Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; drafts or prepares responses to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles.

* Arrange meetings and conferences, schedules interviews and appointments, and performs other duties related to maintaining one or more individual schedules.

* Performs related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by basic clerical or office support or customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Physical Demands: * Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): * Potential for interaction with hostile or physically aggressive clients.

Special Certifications and Licenses: * Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
