Outside Account Rep – Johnson City, Abingdon Warehouses

Territory area – Johnson City, TN; Abingdon, VA and surrounding areas

Description:

Develop, maintain, and grow assigned accounts as well as new accounts to support the growth of the Company. Ability to think creatively, be able to recognize and act on ideas which help the company strategic goals and sales plan. The outside sales position will possess strong presentation and communication skills. Must be able to facilitate the execution of a well thought out sales plan and understand the sales process.

Responsibilities:

Attain monthly and annual sales goals as assigned by sales manager and company owner.

Analyze and record assigned customer’s needs and create results for the account that will maximize its success.

Maintain and develop existing customers by developing and continuous sales and marketing plans.

Make the most of sales opportunities through sales calls (primarily personal visits and telephone calls)

Maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems.

Keep a detailed knowledge of products (new and existing), policies and merchandising information to effectively serve dealers.

Monitor and communicate competitive information including pricing, policies and marketing strategies and relate information back to appropriate personnel.

Maintain a professional image including appearance/dress. The ability to attend local and regional trade events to gather market intelligence from customers, competitors, and vendors, accomplish sales and business plan execution, customer retention and new business development.

Competencies:

Exceptional selling skills including, features-benefits-solutions selling, program selling and problem solving must have the ability to build, communicate and implement a sales plan.

Excellent presentation skills and face-to-face and telephone communication skills.

Thorough understanding of principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development.

Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to create sales solutions for a customer’s needs that directly impact the customer’s bottom line

An understanding of the retail sales process.

Self-starter, energetic.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Should be a strategic thinker, to be able to identify and act on ideas which further the company’s sales goals and plan.

Identify and address root causes when solving problems. Work together with the inside sales team and come up with effective solutions.

All other activities deemed necessary by management.
