Job Description

Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of routine mail processing and supply duties working from detailed instructions and using standard practices and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Processes all outgoing mail and operates postage machine

Collects and distributes incoming and interoffice mail and packages/boxes.

Fills supply requisitions and assists with the physical inventory of all expendable supplies.

Moves boxes and runs errands as needed.

Delivers misc. items as needed (mail tubs to trust, large boxes, supplies, etc.)

Delivers exception mail items to the City of Hampton Treasurer’s Office.

Assist Maintenance Support when needed.

Assists in moving furniture and equipment as needed.

Assists in maintaining document retention boxes, and verifies boxes are correctly destroyed.

Prepares bi-weekly janitorial supply count for the campus.

Maintains all supplies for HQ’s 4th Floor Cage. Replenishes all floors as needed bi-weekly.

Performs all work in compliance with applicable regulations/policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

Ability to operate mail processing machine and all other standard mail processing equipment

Ability to read and perform basic mathematical functions

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to maintain schedules and meet deadlines

Ability to transport up to 50+ pounds

Good interpersonal skills

Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.

Education/Experience:

High School graduate or GED
