The Marine Rigger, sometimes called a Marine and Electronics installer, routinely installs marine outboard engines on customer and dealership boats, as well as completing basic preventative maintenance. The Marine Rigger will also remove and replace boat electronics, gauges, controls, and other rigging-related equipment.

Primary duties and responsibilities, not limited to:

Outboard Installation

Safely remove existing outboard and rigging, as appropriate.

Install outboard engine and rigging according to manufacturer specifications and general best practices.

Appropriately determines methods and products required to install steering cables and wiring throughout boat according to manufacturer and customer requirements.

Setup and test functionality of newly installed engine, gauges, and steering systems for all work performed.

Seek-out, identify, and inform Service Manager of all additional work opportunities observed while performing work.

Apply strict adherence to industry safety standards.

Accessory Installation

Removes and replaces various electronics, such as GPS, fish finders, transducers, radars, stereo systems, and more.

Install new cabling, controls, networks, and other accessory apparatus as appropriate, and according to customer specification.

Performs initial setup of marine electronics.

Qualifications

Experience in rigging outboard motors.

Proven experience successfully applying mechanical aptitude and knowledge.

Demonstrable ability to accurately and efficiently diagnose and correct electrical problems on 12- and 24-volt systems.

Can effectively read, understand, and apply complex instruction manuals and wiring diagrams.

Know and apply appropriate safety precautions.

Demonstrable commitment to producing high-quality installations.

Working Conditions

Shop environment that may require kneeling, bending, climbing, twisting, and lifting heavy objects (more than 50 pounds).

May be required to work in awkward body positions for extended periods of time.

May be required to work more than 40 hours, weekends, and holidays.'

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,557.00 - $60,358.00 per year
