Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist

Job Description

Alaska Monitoring Associates consists of intraoperative neuromonitoring technologists (IONM) working in the area of Southcentral Alaska. Intraoperative neuromonitoring is the continuous surveillance of a patient’s nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) when it can be at risk of injury during surgery. Working in hospitals and smaller surgery centers, we strive to provide the best patient care possible and work together with physicians to ensure the best surgical outcomes.

Credentialing required at all facilities including BLS and background checks.

Candidate Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree

· Effective oral and written communication skills

· Positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and other medical staff.

· Self-sufficient worker with drive to help further build a great team

· Flexibility in schedule to accommodate variable operating room schedules and procedure times.

Job Responsibilities:

· Setting up equipment in operating suite

· Consenting patient before surgery

· Applying electrodes and monitoring patients’ response during surgery

· Reporting any changes to surgeon
