Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS) is a worldwide leader in water recovery, treatment and reuse. We design and supply a range of water systems, from food and beverage applications, to municipal water, to microelectronics ultrapure water and heavy industrial wastewater treatment.

The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will closely support the ES Projects business from bid proposal,

execution, to commissioning. This position will lean upon their experience interpreting specifications/requirements into documentation to be executed by our external provides. The Lead SQE will work closely with the Global Supplier Quality team and internal partners to delivery expected results for our clients.

We need someone with experience with the management of documentation, supplier relationships and results, as well as issue management. This role will lean heavily upon independent work

habits and time management to deliver on multiple project simultaneously. This is a fast-paced and rewarding opportunity, to join a team that is working to save the world, one glass of water at a time.

Key Characteristics:

Ability to be self-lead and motivated is critical to success in this role

Experience with delivering and managing technical projects in the Oil and Gas, Commercial construction, or other similar high specification industries

Ability to manage multiple stakeholder, issues/ high specification projects, and priorities at once while driving swift resolution of issues

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the quality of externally supplied materials in support of customer projects and products. This includes the disposition of supplier non-conformances and issuance/management of Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR)

Collaborate with internal engineering and external suppliers to determine feasibility of designs for manufacturability at external vendors

Perform root cause analysis, involving engineering and other key departments, for supplier non-conformance issues

Audit current suppliers to evaluate risk by monitoring changes in management, key personnel, and process changes

Support the development of new and existing suppliers by improving their quality management systems to improve overall part and documentation quality

Determine quality requirements for highly technical projects drawing from customer, internal, and industry specifications.

Mitigate quality and project risks through the addition of inspections and other methods to ensure compliance to all project requirements.

Hard Skills:

Proven experience in reading and deciphering engineering drawings and other related industrial specifications

Practical experience with special processes (welding, casting, molding, etc…)

Ability to work with suppliers to manage relationships, supplier performance, and product conformance

Ability to drive technical discussions with internal and external teams and suppliers in each of the manufacturing/installation sites as defined per project

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or other technical engineering degree and 5 years of supplier quality or inspection related work experience

Work experience with steel fabrication, pressure vessels, plastic injection molding, oil and gas or water treatment systems, and/or electromechanical assembly processes

Work experience with QRQC, Lean Six Sigma, DOE, Deming Cycle, FMEA, 8D, APQP, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, etc.

Preferred:

Previous project management experience from ITO (Inquiry to Order) to OTR (Order to Remittance)

Technical inspection experience or certification in welding, NDT, and other disciplines

Working knowledge of NSF, AWS B31.1 and B31.3 welding codes and Canadian equivalents

Business and Technical English Language Knowledge

Qualified ISO9001 auditor or equivalent

Working Conditions:

Up to 20% domestic and international travel as required

Visits to supplier and customer sites that may be located outdoors or in other exposed environments
