Nail Technician
Job Summary:
Cleans, shapes, and polishes clients' fingernails and toenails.
General Accountabilities
Schedules client appointments and accepts payments.
Removes previously applied nail polish, using liquid remover and swabs.
Cleans customers' nails in soapy water, using swabs and files.
Shapes and smoothes the ends of nails, using scissors, files, or emery boards.
Applies polish onto nails with brush.
Advises clients on nail care and use of products and colors.
Assesses the condition of clients' hands, removes dead skin from the hands and massage them.
Softens nail cuticles with water and oil, pushes back cuticles, using cuticle knife, and trims cuticles, using scissors or nippers.
Brushes powder and solvent onto nails and paper forms to maintain nail appearance.
Shapes and smooth nail edges using rotary abrasive wheel.
Maintains supply inventories and records of client services.
Treats nails to repair or improve strength and resilience by wrapping.
Roughens surfaces of fingernails, using abrasive wheel.
Promotes and sells nail care products.
Polishes nails, using powdered polish and buffer.
Whitens underside of nails with white paste or pencils.
Decorates clients' nails by piercing or attaching ornaments or designs.
Cleans and sanitizes tools and work environment.

Job Qualifications
Education: Graduation from a nail technician certification program
Experience: 1-2 years of related experience
License: Current nail technician license
