Fresh Baguette is looking for a talented and passionate Junior Pastry Cook for its Rockville production center (804 Hungerford Drive Rockville, MD 20850 ) .
The Junior Pastry Cook's role is to assist the Pastry Chefs in their daily operations.
As a Junior Pastry Cook you will:
Use kitchen equipment such as mixer, blenders, ovens and cookers.
Follow clear written procedures when handling recipes.
Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Implement and enforce proper hygiene practices, including ingredient handling, storage, and disposal.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area.
Assist the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef in the implementation of new recipes.
Hours
Open flexibility to work Monday-Sunday between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
5 days a week
8 hour shift
Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Working Environment
Working in a food production and distribution bakery with high food safety and sanitation standards
Exposure to hot and cold temperatures and noise from equipment
Fast-paced team environment creating hundreds of pastry-related products a day

Requirements

Located in the US at the time of application with current authorization to work in the US
Reliable transportation to work
Intermediate to Native/Bilingual proficiency in English
Proven work experience in a similar role, e.g., pastry assistant, pastry cook
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a pastry/Bakery/Kitchen
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to work with computers.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and teamwork.
Being attentive to details.
Have the ability to work in fast-paced in a dynamic environment.
