Research Specialist, Early Childhood Innovation Network - Department of Psychiatry - Georgetown University Medical Center

Job Overview

The Research Assistant supports a research and evaluation project aimed at improving the early education system.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conducts literature reviews

Assist with recruitment and data collection

Assist with data entry, cleaning, and analysis

Support the coordination of meetings with project partners

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to Hillary Robertson, Research Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry, the Research Assistant interfaces with project faculty and staff, and communicates regularly with community partners on the grant. As well, they interface with team members from the Early Childhood Innovation Network (ECIN), and other partnering agencies.

Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, public health, or other relevant fields

1 year of experience in a research setting – preference for 1 year of experience in a research position

Basic knowledge of the principles, processes, and methods of social science research through reading literature and/or experience in the field

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of library and web-related research

An interest in early childhood

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of quantitative or qualitative statistical software - SPSS, Stata, R, ATLAS.ti, Dedoose)

Experience conducting literature reviews and working in early education settings
