Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Construction Estimator with 3-10 years of experience in multi-family mechanical estimating. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of accurately assessing project costs, creating comprehensive estimates, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

Thorough Project Analysis, Take-offs, and Mechanical Expertise:

- Conduct meticulous analysis of project plans and specifications, focusing on accurate quantity take-offs specifically for mechanical components in multi-family residential developments.

- Utilize in-depth mechanical expertise and industry-standard take-off methods to ensure precise measurements, minimizing the risk of underestimation or overestimation.

Collaboration with Stakeholders on Design Intent:

- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to align take-off quantities with mechanical design intent, ensuring accurate representation of mechanical requirements.

- Leverage mechanical knowledge to proactively address design modifications and value engineering opportunities that may impact take-offs and overall project costs.

Bid Evaluation for Correct Pricing and Mechanical Quality:

- Solicit and evaluate bids with a specific focus on correct pricing for mechanical materials and labor.

- Turn in bid reports in a timely manner.

Comprehensive Estimate Preparation with Mechanical Precision:

- Utilize advanced estimating software and methodologies, incorporating mechanical knowledge, to develop comprehensive estimates with a strong emphasis on correct pricing.

- Prepare detailed documentation showcasing accurate breakdowns of mechanical material costs, labor costs, and any necessary allowances.

Continuous Improvement in Mechanical Knowledge and Pricing Accuracy:

- Stay abreast of mechanical industry trends, codes, and regulations to enhance overall mechanical knowledge and continuously improve the accuracy of estimating.

- Implement feedback loops related to mechanical expertise to learn from previous projects, refining both mechanical knowledge and the pricing strategy for future multi-family mechanical estimates.

Project Support with Mechanical Insight and Budget Adherence:

- Collaborate closely with project management teams, providing mechanical insight and expertise to support successful project execution.

- Offer mechanical-related support, ensuring correct pricing and adherence to budget constraints, with a focus on maintaining mechanical quality standards.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

- In lieu of a degree, relevant experience will be accepted.

- Relevant certifications in estimating, mechanical systems, or construction management would be a plus.

Experience:

- Proven track record with 3-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on multi-family mechanical projects.

- Demonstrated success in accurately estimating mechanical costs for residential developments, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and best practices.

Technical Proficiency:

- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and regulations relevant to multi-family residential construction.

- Proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software for mechanical systems (Autodesk, BIM), as well as a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Communication Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Detail-Oriented:

- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in estimating and the ability to identify potential risks or opportunities within project plans and specifications.
