Speech Language Pathology Assistant - Manassas, VA
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SLPA to join our team. As an SLPA, you will work closely with our SLP to support the communication and language development of students from Pre-K to 8th grade. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children by providing individual and small group therapy sessions, assisting with assessments, and collaborating with teachers and other members of the educational team.
Responsibilities:
Assist the SLP in implementing therapy plans and interventions.
Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of the SLP, including individual and small group sessions targeting speech and language goals.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support the communication needs of students across various educational settings.
Assist in conducting screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring to evaluate student communication skills and determine appropriate intervention strategies.
Implement evidence-based strategies and techniques to address speech and language goals, including articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and social communication.
Support students with diverse needs, including those with speech and language disorders, developmental delays, and disabilities, in achieving their educational and communication goals.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in communication sciences and disorders or SLPA Associate s degree
Must have an active Virginia SLPA License
Previous experience working with children in educational or clinical setting preferred
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
