This is a stellar opportunity to join GKN Powder Metallurgy, a global leader focused on the development of new powder metallurgy materials for the next generation of vehicles, motors, energy storage and non-traditional applications working with an exceptional team of dedicated engineers and technicians.

SUMMARY: In this key leadership role, the focus of your work will be powder development for batteries and magnetic applications, which are our highest priorities. In addition, you will be expected to learn, support and develop other product families within the core structural PM business. You’ll be expected to implement specific R & D activities that align with corporate strategic programs by prioritizing effective usage of technical resources and creative problem solving. Interface with customers, suppliers, marketing and manufacturing departments to introduce new products & processes and advance developments through pilot scale. Manage project needs in the areas of metal powder product development (alloy development, coating technology, new applications). Be an integral member of the R&D including personnel evaluations and decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

out specific assigned R & D projects by organizing, prioritizing, and facilitating the effective usage of both human and materials resources for the areas of powder product development (battery precursors, coating technology, new applications).

new process and product research programs. Interface with customers, suppliers, marketing, and manufacturing departments to realize program goals.

assigned work force, recognize personal strengths, and recommend potential improvements.

the in-house expert/consultant to other departments in the areas of metal powder development.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

MS in materials science or related engineering discipline.

3 years of work experience. Prefer experience in any of the following: particulate materials, metallurgy, battery cathode compositions and/or magnetics.

education or experience may be substituted for formal education.
