Title: Signal Processing Engineer Advisor

Job Description

We are seeking a team member with strong technical research background to provide technical advice and project management on novel signal processing programs at DARPA in Arlington, VA. As a Signal Processing Engineer Advisor, you will provide technical project control, oversight and interface with stakeholders and collaborators while relying on your technical experience to provide insight, guidance and technical direction. You will provide risk analysis, technical report and brief development, cost analysis of proposed research and development activities and coordination of evaluation and IV&V entities.

The ideal candidate will have experience with one or more technologies including digital signal processing, digital communications, tactical radios, distributed radio frequency systems, modern navigation and positioning technology, and estimation and detection theory.

100% onsite with flexible work schedule through occasional remote telework and/or alternative work schedule.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Lead periodic (monthly or bi-weekly) performer assessments to analyze program, technical and schedule risks; develop risk mitigation strategies; communicate findings to program manager

Evaluate and guide technical reports, briefings, and other performer communications

Engage stakeholders and collaborators across the various DoD agencies and services

Shape and oversee early operational analysis

Administer programmatic, including development of technical analyses, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer efforts, as well as supporting technical reviews

Prepare DARPA work products including presentations and reports

Attend and organize program reviews/site visits/field tests.

Support further research solicitation development and source selection activities associated with signal processing technologies

Basic Qualifications:

At least 20 years of experience with systems engineering and/or radio frequency based signal processing technologies or systems.

A Master's Degree in physics, engineering or mathematics or equivalent work experience.

US Citizen

Active or in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI Access required

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience working programs at DARPA as a technical support contractor.

Knowledge of DARPA processes and procedures .

Demonstrated program management expertise, preferably as a project lead.

Expertise and strong interest in the above technical areas.

Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support program goals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and PowerPoint.

Demonstrated attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment.

Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.

Flexible and readily adaptable to change.

Familiarity with DARPA technical, programmatic, and contractual environment.
