Unissant is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to support our team in Herndon, VA and work with Federal Civilian and National Security customers. The contracts portfolio for this position will include a variety of contract types, with different customers thereby providing a diverse set of contracts and activities to support. This role will support our President and our two General Managers. We provide state-of-the art data management, systems development, and cybersecurity solutions.

The Contracts function is a centralized organization that serves as the official face of Unissant, leading and performing negotiations for contract management in all phases of our programs which begins with opportunity shaping and continues through proposal and post-award. Further, the Contracts function is a valued strategic business partner responsible for building lasting relationships and delivering balanced and equitable business deals thus ensuring the long-term, mutual success for both Unissant and our Government customers.

The ideal candidate will be able to impact business outcomes, collaborate across business and other functions, and cultivate relationships with the Federal Government acquisition customers. This includes using business acumen to lead program teams in the successful development, negotiation, and implementation of insightful, ethical, profitable and creative contracting business solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Providing Government contractual expertise and leadership to Unissant's President

Building and maintaining relationships with the Government Contracting Officer

Negotiating price, terms, and conditions

Assisting internal clients to identifying contractual changes, expeditiously engaging/notifying the Government, and leading internal personnel in the development of contractual approaches to successfully resolve such issues

Negotiating various business agreements

Participating in the development and review of proposals

Establishing excellent working relationships with Program Managers and other internal stake holders

Launching OCI screenings

Performing risk assessments, and recommending and implementing mitigation approaches

Interpreting contract terms and handling subsequent issues

Actively participating in client meetings and reviews

Work independently on larger projects/assignments to include proposals and contracts with various degrees of complexity

Apply business acumen and Government acquisition knowledge to develop opportunity shaping and negotiation strategies

Proactively advise management of contractual rights, obligations, and risks,

Support and lead negotiations

Ensure compliance with Unissant Contracts policies and guidelines as well as with US Government regulations; and influence internal and external stakeholders through use of facts, policies, and acquisition best practices

Work Experience and Job Skills:

7+ years of experience reviewing and negotiating US Government and commercial agreements

A demonstrated understanding and strong working knowledge of US Government Acquisition Regulations

Adept at contract analysis

The aptitude to work on diverse contractual issues simultaneously

The ability to frame, draft and negotiate agreements

Strong work ethic with a commitment to ensure that all deadlines are met on time and with a high degree of quality

The skill to be persuasive while maintaining a positive customer and/or teammate relationship

Highly proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.

Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Ability to work effectively under time critical deadlines and high stress situations.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree is required.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) and/or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) desired

Ability to obtain a clearance

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written skills, including strong presentation skills.

Possess a command for communicating complex ideas into simple and understandable concepts.

Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at all levels of organization.

Enthusiastic, proactive, positive attitude with great listening and speaking skills and high integrity.

Travel:

Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 5%)

Environmental Requirements:

Mainly sedentary; in an office environment

May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds

Flexible in working extended hours.
