Lead Mechanical Engineer

Selectek is partnering with a firm near Alpharetta, Georgia to hire a Lead Mechanical Engineer on a contract-to-direct hire basis. Candidates will design industrial automation equipment to be used primarily in production facilities.

Expected Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000 annual salary, depending on experience

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, normal workday hours

Job Duties:

- Lead and supervise all equipment design activities based on customer specification

- Develop project schedules and budgets

- Delegate appropriate tasks to a team of draftspersons and designers

- Conceptualize equipment using standard parts, components, and modules

- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and bills of material for fabrication and machining

- Provide accurate cost estimates and project status reports

- Travel to client sites for commissioning and start-up/troubleshooting if needed.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

- 5+ years of automation equipment design experience

- Proficiency with SolidWorks

- Understanding of mechanical systems and components used in custom machines

- Able to travel approximately 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally
