Responsible for all sales-related functions, including staffing, pricing, marketing, and achieving revenue goals of the property. Directs the leasing team, and supervises staff’s daily activities to achieve occupancy.
Duties:
• Lead and oversee all business development, sales, and leasing activities for the shopping center.
• Identify and secure qualified tenants that align with the pre-approved tenant mix plan, maximizing occupancy.
• Negotiate lease terms that are favorable to the property while maintaining strong tenant relationships.
• Act as a trusted advisor to tenants, providing guidance on leases, contracts, development, and investment.
• Manage lease renewals effectively and ensure timely completion according to established policies.
• Oversee specialty leasing, including temporary pop-up shops and kiosks.
• Continuously research and analyze competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
• Actively participate in the preparation of annual income budgets and monthly leasing reports for management.
• Collaborate with legal and financial departments to ensure smooth lease negotiations.
• Manage customer service inquiries related to leases and tenancies, gathering feedback for improvement.
• Assist in achieving overall leasing goals, working with both permanent and specialty leasing specialists.
• Proactively identify potential tenants through local and regional outreach.
• Ensure temporary tenants enhance the shopping center's visual appeal and meet professional standards.
• Coordinate the setup, relocation, and breakdown of temporary tenant spaces.
• Collect rent payments and sales reports from temporary merchants.
• Stay up-to-date on retail trends and merchandising practices, both locally and nationally.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of plans and budgets.
Requirements
3+ years
Diploma or Bachelors
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes
Knowledge in the industry (priority – to local and regional experience).
Strong business development, sales, and negotiation skills.
Experience in commercial real estate leasing, particularly shopping centers. (3 to 4 years)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
In-depth knowledge of retail trends and merchandising best practices.
