We are looking to hire a "Commis" for one of our client companies.
Qualifications:
Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institute (preferred).
Minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen environment, such as culinary school externship or internship, apprenticeship, or entry-level kitchen position.
Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Responsibilities:
To assist the chef de partie in preparing food according to the requirements or recipes or standards, and the specifications for his department
To prepare the mise-en-place as required by the daily menu
To maintain his workstation and area in clean and orderly condition at all times
To advise his supervisor on items in short supply and book the same as needed from stores after getting the approved requisition
To carry out any duties assigned by the chef
To follow the house rules and policies laid down by the management
To adhere to strict grooming and hygiene standards
To consciously and continuously strive to improve his/ her skills and increase his/ her knowledge
