A Lead Mechanical Engineer to be responsible for creating new designs based on customers scheduled and budget requests that meet the contract requirements, customer expectations, and company standards and practices. Lead and supervise all mechanical design aspects of a project with external customers, internal customers, and design resources.

Required:

Bachelor s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanics, or similar field.

Minimum of five years of experience in designing automation equipment within the production industry.

Proficiency in SolidWorks and PC-based Microsoft Suites.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components used in custom machines.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and customers.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Willingness to travel approximately 25% (national and international).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Experience in automotive or electronics manufacturing is preferred. Job Responsibilities:

Create new designs in accordance with customer schedules, budgetary constraints, and contract requirements while upholding company standards and practices.

Lead and supervise all mechanical design aspects of projects, collaborating with both external and internal stakeholders as well as design resources.

Delegate tasks effectively to a team of draftspersons and designers, ensuring timely project completion and adherence to quality standards.

Serve as a mentor and leader within the mechanical design project team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Work closely with project managers to develop project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Analyze engineering drawings and specifications, developing equipment and processes that meet project requirements.

Conceptualize and design equipment using standard parts, components, and modules, while also evaluating opportunities for cost and time optimization.

Prepare detailed engineering drawings and bill of materials for fabrication and machining.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, controls engineers, purchasers, technicians, contractors, suppliers, and customers as needed.

Assist in the development and implementation of design and department standards, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Organize project documentation including quotes, drawings, correspondence, requisitions, schedules, and more.

Provide accurate cost estimates and project status reports to stakeholders on a regular basis.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Troubleshoot and problem-solve technical challenges as they arise, maintaining project momentum and quality standards.

Support the development of proposals and quotations for new projects, leveraging your expertise and insights. Salary Range-$80,000-$100,000
