Spanish Interpreter

Job Description

Southeastern Virginia Health System is seeking bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates to serve as interpreters in our office-based medical practice. Help us provide that personal touch to our patients by communicating with all parties within the office by accompanying our patients through their office visit and communicating between the patient and front desk, nurses, physicians, lab and other support staff.

Assist patients with the check in /registration process, nurse visit, provider visit, lab service, referral services, health education services, case management services, pharmacy assistance program, check out process and any other services as necessary by interpreting between patient and staff to insure clients successfully access and utilize the full range of health center services and comprehend their health care plan.

Assist with both spoken and written interpretation.

Interpret for foreign language speaking patients, whether it be speaking, reading or writing.

Provide interpretation services for all SEVHS centers as required.

Assist other staff with medical records, pulling, filing, scanning, copying, printing, faxing as directed by the supervisor.

Assist with front desk duties as may be required.

Assist patients on the telephone, schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments; provide general information and answer inquiries.

Navigate the electronic medical record system following established protocol and procedures.
