DOJ's Unix Services team provides a Platform as Service (PaaS) hosting environment for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and some AIX, customers. RHEL VMWare virtual and physical Linux systems run in the Cloud (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, or IBM Softlayer) and in DOJ supported data centers.

Must possess active Top Secret National Security Clearance
This position is currently hybrid, reports up to 3 days per week to a client location in Merrifield, VA.
Qualifications and Experience :
Master's Degree with 8+ years' experience or Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience
One or more related certifications preferred
Expertise with RHEL version 7 and above
Expertise with RHEL Satellite Server and Ansible
Expertise using RHEL administration and monitoring tools such as top, nmon, vmstat, sar, ps, syslog-ng, etc.
Expertise in patching, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and continuous monitoring
Experience with RHEL Resilient Storage
Experience with network monitoring and connectivity tools (e.g., wireshark, sysstat, nmap, tcpdump, traceroute, etc.)
Usable knowledge of networking and networking architecture
Strong troubleshooting abilities and Root Cause Analysis for any system
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize critical tasks
Support on a M-F business hours schedule in the US Eastern time zone
Extended hour, weekend, and on-call support as required by mission or emergencies
Familiarity with the following is a plus:
Experience with VMWare
Experience with J2EE (Java Enterprise Edition) and Java Applications
Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Database Servers
ITIL or ISO training and/or certification
Past experience with the Department of Justice
Experience with using ITSM for ticketing and change management (ServiceNow specifically)
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain documentation of all platform service processes, procedures, and artifacts
Build, configure, upgrade, maintain, secure, decommission, and otherwise maintain a RHEL server infrastructure
Plan installation, configuration, and testing storage subsystems (i.e., Network File System (NFS), Storage Area Networks (SANs))
Perform systems operation support, to include system monitoring, patching, backup, restore, troubleshooting, performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, and other related administrative duties
Support the design, build, and testing of application upgrades
Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution in support of customer requirements
Support data center consolidation efforts
Provide expertise and assistance in migrations to managed service(s)
Deploy new tools as identified
