Logistics Team Lead – Experienced in Truck Brokerage

Givens Logistics is looking to grow our Logistics team and is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced logistics professional with a proven track record working in truck brokerage. This person would supervise a team of Logistics Coordinators to work with existing key accounts as well as develop and grow new business. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of Logistics Coordinators and provide guidance and support to achieve individual, team, and company goals.

Negotiate price with shippers and carriers.

Oversee the planning and execution of transportation and distribution activities, including coordinating with customers and carriers, tracking shipments, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Evaluate the performance of logistics coordinators and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Sell and close business with new and existing customers.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in logistics to implement innovative solutions.

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company procedures.

Professional communication skills with customers and carriers.

Maintain accurate shipment data and customer invoicing in the Transportation Management Software.

Collaborate with internal teams and to ensure the customer requirements are met.

Perform carrier recruitment and onboarding.

Coordinate within department, account manager, collections department and other parties, as necessary.

Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced environment.

Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Assist in other tasks, as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience in logistics operations, preferably in a supervisory role.

Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics and truck brokerage.

Minimum 1 year of management experience.

Excellent communication and organizational skills to support a fast-paced environment.

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle conflict is a must for this position.

Minimum 1 year of experience in an office, administrative and customer service.

Familiarity with logistics software and systems.

Able to lead, train, and develop others.

Experience with MS Office suite, specifically Excel and TMS is needed with the ability to work with the latest technologies.

Proficient computer skills.

Basic knowledge of accounting and invoicing.
