Mead & Hunt's Northeast Transportation Unit is seeking highly motivated Transportation Engineer(s) – Traffic & ITS. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a diverse array of projects and make an impact on the communities we serve, as well as your career and your life.
Responsibilities:
What you’ll do:
Field observations of traffic conditions, traffic data collection, and ITS assets and provide recommendations
Traffic engineering operations analysis and modeling
Traffic safety studies, crash data analysis, and evaluating new technologies to improve traffic safety and operations on existing roadways
Assist in developing ITS & traffic engineering design plans including traffic signals, detectors, devices, sensors, systems, signing & pavement markings, roadway lighting and maintenance of traffic.
Prepare cost estimates and specifications
Prepare technical reports and memos to document findings and recommendations
Provide engineering support on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) projects, including planning, systems engineering, design, integration, deployment, operations, maintenance and communications
Perform traffic engineering tasks relating to signal timing including analysis and field implementation, and analysis of traffic patterns and trends
Some travel will be required

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have all the following:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil or electrical engineering
Ability to obtain PE when eligible
A valid driver’s license
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:
Traffic engineering or Intelligent Transportation Systems
Passed FE Exam
Engineer-In-Training certification
Synchro, HCS, MUTCD
Master’s degree in engineering is a plus
