JDA is seeking a highly motivated, result-driven Publicist with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic communications plans, media relations campaigns, and media strategies.

As a Publicist at JDA, you will be responsible for pitching concepts and written works on behalf of our clients to a variety of reputable media outlets. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering innovative solutions for clients and have experience crafting compelling messages, building relationships with journalists, securing interviews and prime media placements, and effectively representing our clients’ voices to the media and public alike

The ideal candidate has a knack for newsworthy storytelling and must be dedicated to building narratives that guide and support our clients’ brand stories. Experience identifying opportunities for public awareness growth and mitigating risks to our client’s brand image and integrity are key to success in this role. As a Publicist at JDA, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure client satisfaction. As an integral part of the JDA team culture, this new team member must have an exceptional work ethic and be committed to high-vision, high-values leadership.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with reporters, producers, and media outlets

Pitch and book media engagements for client interviews and written works

Orchestrate successful media interviews, press conferences, and media tours, maximizing media engagement and enhancing our clients’ public profiles

Act as the first point of contact with inbound media and respond to all queries

Curate customized media contact lists, tailored for each client’s location, audience, and campaigns

Develop comprehensive messaging strategies that resonate with target audiences, reinforcing clients’ brand identities across various communication channels

Master and utilize company PR tools (such as Cision and Meltwater)

Seek opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on behalf of JDA’s clients

Track media coverage and follow industry trends

Prepare and submit PR reports

Act as a media liaison on the ground for client events and press conferences

Requirements

BS/BA in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field

3+ years of experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar PR role

Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print)

Background in researching, writing and editing publications

Broad media connections, particularly in Faith, Business, and Government is a plus
