Mainframe Developer - COBOL/DB2

Job Summary : We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS, along with excellent analytical skills.

The role involves working on development and maintenance projects, requiring flexibility and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Additionally, familiarity with SDLC processes and an understanding of Agile methodologies is required.

Knowledge of the Corporate banking domain will be : - Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.

- Analyze business requirements and design technical solutions to meet the project objectives.

- Collaborate with business analysts, QA testers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

- Write and maintain technical documentation including program specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and best practices.

- Perform unit testing and support system integration testing to validate functionality and identify defects.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to minimize impact on project timelines.

- Work closely with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.

- Follow SDLC processes and methodologies to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

- Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities with flexibility and professionalism.

- Communicate effectively with team members, project stakeholders, and management to provide status updates and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications : - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 3 years of experience in mainframe development using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Flexibility to work on both development and maintenance projects, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.

- Sound knowledge of SDLC processes and understanding of Agile methodologies.

- Familiarity with version control systems and change management processes.

- Experience in the Corporate banking domain is a plus.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
