Are you a caring and compassionate Registered nurse (RN) who is passionate about providing quality healthcare to children? We are seeking a dedicated RN to join our school healthcare team to provide pediatric care for students in the Loudoun County area.
Responsibilities:
As a school nurse (RN) specializing in pediatric care, you will:
Conduct health assessments and provide medical care to students as needed.
Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and state regulations.
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history.
Assist students with chronic illnesses in managing their conditions while at school.
Perform health screenings, vision and hearing tests, and maintain accurate health records.
Provide first aid and immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses.
Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related topics and promote a healthy school environment.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, school counselors, and administrators to ensure students' well-being.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all health-related matters.
Participate in emergency drills and crisis intervention when necessary.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in pediatric healthcare through continuing education.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassion and empathy for working with children and their families.
Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding school health services.
CPR and First Aid certification.
