Role: Senior data consultant - graph & semantics

Location: McLean, VA

Onsite/hybrid Mode Position

Exp: 3 - 8 years

Role Description:

Financial services organizations face significant challenges and opportunities in managing and leveraging data, including their own and new big data sets. The ability to compete, comply, and transform relies on unlocking hidden links between data scattered across various silos. Next-generation tools, including AI systems powered by knowledge graphs, are essential for handling complexity and providing contextually explainable answers.

Graph and Semantic Engineering are emerging as enterprise data technologies that utilize ontologies and advanced analytics, including artificial intelligence, to build and represent knowledge in expressive ways. Our clients are beginning to leverage this paradigm shift to build knowledge that is meaningful to both people and machines.

As a Senior Data Consultant specializing in Graph & Semantics, your primary responsibility will be to help clients succeed by understanding, exploiting, designing, and implementing solutions involving graph and semantic technologies. This includes advanced data management and analytics, as well as other innovative approaches. You will also play a key role in growing our Data Practice domain, shaping and executing hiring strategies, and developing in-house talent.

In this rapidly evolving landscape, your ongoing curiosity and ability to develop connections with key partners will provide valuable support to our clients.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Knowledge Representation and Semantic Technologies, including RDF and OWL, with expertise in semantic modeling and data.

Experience working on multiple use cases for these technologies, providing guidance on user interface design that exploits the power of graphs and addresses challenges in visualizing graph data.

Working knowledge of various Graph/Triple Stores and related technologies, such as AnzoGraph, PoolParty, Stardog, TigerGraph, Ontotext GraphDB, Grakn, MarkLogic, and Metaphactory.

Experience managing graph projects with substantial amounts of data.

Understanding of ETL techniques and associated software.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for Graph and Semantic Technologies.

Experience applying semantic technologies in an industry setting or practical experience in academic, Library Science, or Information/Knowledge Management careers.

Willingness to travel Monday-Thursday weekly.

Additional Desired Skills:

Awareness of the financial services domain.

Ability to utilize NLP, machine learning, and semantic text mining to translate data into machine-understandable representations.

Familiarity with mapping techniques, such as R2RML, for transforming relational/tabular datasets into triples.

Knowledge of agile software development frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming.

Understanding of data management and governance toolsets and methodologies, including data lineage and traceability concepts.

Programming skills in Python, Java, Javascript, etc.
