BAE Systems Intelligence & Security designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers. As a critical member of our team, you have the chance to be a part of the Navy’s digital transformation by leading Digital Engineering initiatives for complex system design, development, and acquisition efforts.
BAE Systems has an immediate need for a highly qualified Digital Modeling System Engineer (Weapons System) to support U.S Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) programs.
Specific Tasks:
The successful candidate will perform requirements analysis, develop solution architectures at multiple abstraction layers (operational, logical, functional), and perform verification with traceability to requirements as well as for rapid capability development and demonstration of the Strategic Weapons System as a digital entity. Specific tasks may include:
Design and develop system models
Prepare/validate data, perform and validate the modeling and analysis, effectively communicate findings, and provide actionable recommendations
Conduct requirements traceability analyses to support test and evaluation, planning, modeling and simulation, and verification and validation activities
Analyzing system requirements and translating them into model representations
Optimize digital models for completeness, consistency, performance, accuracy and efficiency
Conducting model-based analysis to verify system functionality and performance
Supporting system architecture development and design decisions through model based approaches
Collaborate with Leadership to provide input to help design, monitor, and improve new and existing systems using digital modeling best practices
Stay current with industry trends and incorporate industry best practices into modeling methodologies as appropriate

Typical Education and Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Education and years of related/relevant experience required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related discipline and at least four years of related/relevant work experience, or equivalent years of education and experience in a relevant field.
Additional skills/experience required:
Knowledge and Experience with MBSE methodologies such as SysML, DoDAF, UML, Cameo
Strong problem solving abilities in complex system environments
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrated Self-Starter
Preferred Skills and Education
Demonstrated knowledge in SWS operations
Knowledge and experience working in the Systems Engineering “V”, Lifecycle framework
Experience with supporting systems engineering for integration in a complex System of Systems (SoS) environment
INCOSE or OCSMP Certification
