Responsibilities:

OBXtek is staffing for a Logistics Item Manager II position is located at Arlington Hall Station (National Guard Bureau) in Arlington, VA. The incumbent works as a Logistics expert in the Army National Guard Logistics Division. Provides input to requirements for long range Logistical planning, as it pertains to the Army and National Guard equipment policies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Acts as the primary point of contact for equipment requirements, as it relates to distribution/redistribution, procurement proposals and overhauling of assigned items. Coordinates and acts as a technical advisor of Major Commands (MACOM), National Inventory Control Points (NICP), and States/Territories United States Property and Fiscal Officer (USPFO), Director of Logistics (DOL), Supply Management Officers, Property Management Branch Officers (PMB) and Property Management Officers (PBO).

Interprets and provides procedural and policy guidance with familiarity with the functions of the available Army management tools.

Works independently, but under the supervision of a Logistics Division Branch Chief to analyze, evaluate and recommend actions and make policy decisions in the best interest of the Army National Guard (ARNG).

Provides assistance and directs systems users, of all ARNG States/Territories, on the resolution of functional and systems operational problems.

Reviews and interprets DA directives, Army Regulations, and other policy documents to determine impact on asset visibility logistics automation. Represents the Army National Guard in discussions focusing on asset visibility or procedural matters with Department of the Army.

Works directly with DA G4, DA G8, State J4 DOL's and LOGSA in the functional issues concerning asset visibility. Attends meetings/seminars that involve identification and discussion of professional development of solutions to training problems that may be experienced.

Works and interfaces with the senior leadership in the ARNG and the DA logistics community in asset visibility issues and initiatives that greatly enhance ARNG readiness and unit deployments

Determines support requirements including facilities, personnel, safety, and maintenance.

Directs and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective and economic support.

Analyzes and evaluates design concepts to determine if concepts satisfy support requirements; studies the relative supportability of alternative concepts.

Determines logistic support sequences and time phasing. Anticipates logistics problems related to operational area and environmental and human factors; determines contingency requirements and solutions.

May design and conduct research or technical studies to support logistic functions.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and retain a US DoD Secret Clearance.

Able to perform the duties and responsibilities listed above. Additionally, the ability to write and present well is essential.

Requires bachelor's degree (in Logistics Management, Mathematics or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.

Proficient in use of computer spread sheets, databases, and other related tools.

Ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to perform duties.

Desired Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would be a retired or currently serving M-day Army National Guard (ARNG) field grade officer with a strong background in Logistics with emphasis on equipping policy and management at the major command level.

A highly qualified senior NCO or warrant officer could also fill the bill.

Familiarity with the Congressional equipment authorization and funding process is useful.

While an ARNG background is very desirable, suitable experience in the US Army Reserve (USAR) or active component (AC) would be acceptable.

Experience on the Department of the Army (DA) staff is very desirable.
