Who We Are:

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. It is accomplished through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD). A fourth area is the Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS), which is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers.

OOD works with partners in businesses, education, and non-profit organizations to facilitate customized employment plans for Ohioans with disabilities; helps Ohio companies recruit and retain employees with disabilities; and is the sole agency determining medical and vocational Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs in Ohio. Join the OOD Division of Employer & Innovation Services’ Research and Reporting Team as a Business Solutions Analyst. Support the programs that promote employment of Ohioans with disabilities, disability inclusion, and accessibility!

The Business Solutions Analyst will be a vital member of the team to support the division’s data and reporting activities, such as administering Salesforce (i.e., the Customer Relation Management Platform for the division), integrating and analyzing program data from various systems, and informing policy decisions.

Business Solutions Analyst Duties:

Under general supervision, serves as performance analyst and project coordinator for Employer & Innovation Services (EIS) Division to analyze data for OOD programs and maintains agency-specific statistical information,

Researches & identifies complex business problems & opportunities & applies analytical results & recommends actionable business solutions to address practical problems & opportunities in a format accessible to non-technical staff & stakeholders,

Builds reports, dashboards, & workflows by using various data analysis & visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Salesforce) to assist in the assessment of program performance,

Administers the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system (i.e., Salesforce) for the division and customizes the system based on business need,

Conducts analytical research to obtain and analyze data using programming languages or other statistical tools (e.g., Python, R) on various topics including but not limited to population sets produced by U.S. Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics, Vocational Rehabilitation and Business Relations data, Labor Market Information, etc., to assist in the development of the Vocational Rehabilitation Comprehensive Statewide Needs Assessment.

A successful Business Solutions Analyst has:

Ability to work with large data sets and use statistical analysis and proper research methods, including proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R)

Experience in administering Salesforce, or a similar Customer Relations Management System

Ability to define problem; collect, categorize, tabulate, and validate data; establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; report out on the analysis considering the audience,

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Microsoft Excel,

Strong problem solving; critical thinking; verbal, and written communication skills,

Desire to learn continuously and obtain and apply new knowledge and technical skills to the job.

Completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, information systems, or related field; 24 months experience in any of the following: data analytics, statistical analysis, database administration, customizing and administering customer relations management software (i.e., Salesforce), developing or modifying computer applications; OR

Completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, information systems, or related field; 30 months experience in any of the following: data analytics, statistical analysis, database administration, customizing and administering customer relations management software (i.e., Salesforce), developing or modifying computer applications; OR

36 months combined work experience in any of the following: data analytics, statistical analysis, database administration, customizing and administering customer relations management software (i.e., Salesforce), developing or modifying computer applications.
