Collaborate with Operations, Merchandising and Marketing to ensure fresh produce labels and in-store sales materials comply with government regulations.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
Collaborate with Operations, Merchandising and Marketing to ensure fresh
product labels and in-store selling materials are compliant to government regulations
Collaborate with Retail to ensure third party certifications (e.g. organic) are achieved
Work with Quebec trade associations to influence Quebec policy to reflectthe best interest of Sobeys and our customers
Provide regulatory solutions and review for fresh products packaged or prepared Sobeys businesses
Support projects and initiatives that achieve regulatory (federal/provincial/municipal) requirements of fresh merchandised products including the harmonizing of scale label formats
Provide scale label development tools, regulatory information packages and regulatory training for fresh merchandising and operations personnel
Liaise with government agency (federal/provincial/municipal)inspectors regarding product complaints and inquiries and seek clarity or dispute store inspections or store-label violations
Create and share tracking-process andmetrics for government agencies interactions (e.g. inspector store inspections and violations, product complaints, etc.)
Provide regulatory support for Quebec operations including store third party certifications
Provide regulatory support for national store operations in third party certifications
Keep abreast of emerging regulatory issues in Quebec and participate in relevant Quebec trade associations
Provide French language regulatory support
What you have to offer:
An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
knowledge of Canadian food regulations, and CFIA Guide to Food
Labeling
experience with government inspectors, and in recall actions
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, and databases
knowledge in nutrition, food chemistry, product composition, and
methods of analysis
MAPAQ certification
Bilingual The candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the expansion, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada
