Job Description
Paving Inspector and QC Field Technician position will be a part of our Hot Mix Asphalt Consulting team and assigned to a variety of paving, transportation, and infrastructure projects primarily working in the Quality Control program of the client. The assigned projects will likely be focused in the region local to the candidate, but travel and night work may be required.
This position requires the individual to be a part of a client's, usually a construction or paving contractor, team and operate independently on job sites representing their interests. Types of projects range from basic paving projects to full depth reconstruction and other infrastructure installation. The successful candidate must coordinate closely with the project’s Foreman, QC Manager, and the Owner, work with a project team comprised of individuals of varying seniority and backgrounds and learn quickly to consistently changing duties and project components. Knowledge of paving and road construction projects is required, and we will train the right individual to prepared them for the NETTCP Hot Mix Asphalt Paving Inspector certification.
Basic Duties
Monitor and inspect construction and paving activities for conformance to specifications
Monitor and test in place densities of pavement during placement operations
Complete daily reports
Coordinate with owner and contractor representatives for daily activities while identifying production and placement issues
Coordinate and perform material sampling and testing
Perform data collection and verification
Other similar tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
3+ years of construction inspection experience
NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector certification
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Hold a valid driver's license
Responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to JTC Inc. employee handbook and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of workplace safety and ability to abide by company health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
