Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our transportation brokerage office in Dublin, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving new business sales through a hunter mentality and a consultative sales approach. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in transportation brokerage and new business development experience, with a keen ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities in the transportation industry. This position includes a competitive salary and bonus plan with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.

Schedule and Compensation

Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm

Starting salary based on experience with guaranteed commission for the first 12 months + monthly uncapped commission

What to expect as a Business Development Manager:

Develop and execute strategic plans to identify, target, and acquire new business opportunities within the transportation industry, focusing on freight brokerage services.

Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends, and leverage this information to develop targeted sales strategies.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through cold calling, networking, and relationship-building activities.

Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand client challenges and pain points, and effectively communicate how our services can address these needs.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations that address client needs and differentiate our services.

Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure profitable business relationships.

Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, manage leads, and report on sales performance metrics.

Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential opportunities and threats.

Meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics, consistently driving revenue growth for the organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation brokerage, with a strong understanding of the logistics industry and freight transportation.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in new business development, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Strong hunter mentality with a passion for prospecting and generating new business opportunities.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.

Self-motivated with a proactive and results-oriented approach to sales.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
