Material Handler - Picking/Receiving

Job Description

Job Purpose:

This position is primarily responsible for executing and supporting all function of the receiving department, including administrative and physical job responsibilities as required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely operates warehouse equipment and machinery, including forklift, reach truck, order picker and pallet jacks.

Receives, unpacks, relocates and stocks inbound materials and components, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all materials.

Assists with inbound paperwork as necessary.

Assists with accurately entering product information into the ERP system (NAV).

Regularly counts inventory during receiving process and ensures product received matches product paperwork.

Assist with physical unloading of live containers in specific time periods.

Inspect shipments for visible spot damages/defects from supplier.

Use proper safety equipment and follow safety rules and procedures.

Maintain Receiving dock in a clean and orderly manner.

Use and read a tape measure daily.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Ability and willingness to work safely at all times.

Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education highly preferred.

2+ years of previous warehouse/distribution experience is highly desired. Forklift experience is a plus.

Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 120 lbs.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment without compromising quality or accuracy.

High attention to detail and excellent organization skills required.

Must be able to use a tape measure and perform basic math. Experience with hand tools is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work and problem-solve independently while remaining part of the larger team.

Ability to take on new tasks and rotate through a variety of positions and/or locations as needed.

Exceptional communication and listening skills.
