We provide high quality traffic control safety services to construction job sites, such as Flagging traffic through a work site, setting up and monitoring Lane Closures to divert traffic, or Detouring traffic to reduce traffic congestion and prevent accidents. POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a reliable Field Operations Manager to oversee Field Supervision and all external Traffic Control Operations in our Central Valley territories. As a Field Operations Manager you must have excellent communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills. You must be able to identify jobsite safety hazards, inefficiencies in field quality and scheduling. You must also be able to provide development opportunities to Traffic Control staff thru additional training and coaching. The goal is to ensure all Traffic Control technicians are operating per company standard, that all Field Supervisors are aiding in employee growth and development, so jobs can be properly staffed throughout the year.

The Central Valley Field Operations Manager works closely with his/her Bay Area counterpart to implement companywide Field Operations policies, processes, and procedures, and to lead Traffic Control Operations throughout Northern California.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintains good working partnership with the Local Laborers Union

Manages and provides direction to Field Supervisors allocated to Central Valley Territories and beyond

Maintains Field Inspection Scorecards and reports, leads initiatives that drive the improvement of field performance in his/her region and beyond

Monitors TC performance evaluation metrics, provides coaching and counseling as needed

Monitors scheduling software analytics and leads initiatives to improve field employee engagement

Works with the Training and Safety Team to further training initiatives based on field performance metrics

Routes Traffic Control personnel to jobsite locations/Scheduling & Dispatching

Conducts onsite employee performance evaluations and field inspections as needed

Communicates with customers to help identify both efficiencies and inefficiencies in field performance and jobsite staffing. Makes recommendations as needed

Works with HR to conduct investigations and provide employee coaching as needed

Works with the Scheduling Team to ensure Field Technicians are being utilized properly and fairly

Assists the Training Team with virtual training development and implementation

Looks for ways to improve field supervision processes thru standard operating procedures and technology

Creates and manages SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)

Partners with IT and Operations to assist in software implementations

Assists with year-round field recruitment initiatives, providing insight into field resource needs, staffing metrics

Assists in managing recruitment systems and reports

Conducts pre-job walks as needed

Works closely with the Project Management/Coordination team to help provide support and oversight to large projects and special events

Quarterly department reviews

Works with the Safety & Training Team to help drive new initiatives, and to identify Traffic Controller advancements

Works with the Warehouse and Inventory Department to discuss TC field equipment needs, and to address equipment concerns

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid CA Driver’s License required

Clean driving record required

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety and or Construction Management or equivalent experience preferred

5+ Years manager and or supervisor level experience with 10 or more direct reports

2+ Year’s recruitment experience in a Construction environment

Experience working in a Union environment a plus but not required

Strong mentor, conflict resolution, and communication skills a must

Working proficiency with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Forms required

Working proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft SharePoint, Google Docs a plus

American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) certified flagger, TCT, and TCS preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal agencies including Occupational Health and Safety/Cal OSHA, Department of Transportation, Department of Industrial Relations

Ability to provide training, speak to groups of people, and facilitate or lead investigations

CPR/First Aid certified preferred but not required

OSHA 500 certified preferred but not required

Strong supervisory, writing, and research skills a must

Strong interpersonal skills a must

Strong analytical skills required

Experience with taking a metric driven approach to process management

Ability to handle multiple priorities

Ability to exercise discretion regarding confidential and sensitive information

Ability to drive medium duty trucks and tow a trailer/equipment if needed

Scheduling experience preferred

Bi-lingual a plus but not required

Physical Requirements:

Can lift up to 50lbs

Sitting for extended periods while driving

Standing for extended periods while on jobsite location
