ASSISTANT CONTROLLER - Up to 145k +10% Bonus + 100% Employer paid benefits!
CFS has partnered with a successful, family-owned and operated real-estate developer in Silver Spring, MD to identify a motivated Assistant Controller to join thier team! This is a newly created position as a result of growth! They are extremely stable, and provide a supportive, flexible, family first company culture!
Everyone truly enjoys going to work everyday, so this position is in-office, however there is flexibility to WFH when needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Managing day-to-day and month-end close process
Quarterly/Annual Financial Reporting Package preparation
Facilitate annual tax return preparation with outside accounting firm
Facilitate annual audits and other attestation services
Variance analysis and transaction research
Establish new processes/procedures to increase efficiency within the department
Supervise and mentor accounting team members
Provide on-going support for new initiatives/projects
Ensure that deadlines are met
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
CPA a plus
Minimum 2 years’ auditing experience at a public accounting firm
Experience as an audit in-charge preferred or other supervisory experience
Experience working in the real estate industry (developer/construction/property management) preferred
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
Highly organized and focused
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Highly dependable/ Takes ownership of responsibilities
Ability to independently research issues and propose solutions
Excellent problem-solving ability
Able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and eager to contribute to a team of high-performing individuals
Ability to communicate with team members at all levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Excel
Experience with software conversions a plus
