SUMMARY

Assists supervisor in directing all aspects of the production for the shift. Acts as a backup when the supervisor is not available.

Shift Assistant Supervisor

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the supervisor in directing all production activities and ensuring work is completed on time.

Responsible for quality control checks throughout the production process.

Responsible for providing support necessary to maximize productivity.

Responsible for recording and reporting on production data.

Responsible for filling in as machine operator, sweeper, scheme builder, pallet builder position as needed daily.

Responsible for filling in as supervisor when the supervisor is not available.

Knowledge and Abilities

Strong communication and computer skills.

Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Ability to work under pressure of time constraints.

Strong motivational and direction abilities.

Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and occasionally more than 50lbs.

Ability to work in a standing position for long periods throughout each shift. Along with frequent bending, twisting and pulling.

Flexible with scheduled work hours.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with the supervision of 20-25 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
