Job Description Summary: This positions is mostly dedicated to cardiac surgery, but will cover thoracic patients during weekend rounding.

M-F in OR and providing call coverage The Physician Assistant works in collaboration with the physician in the hospital-based inpatient setting working with critically ill and injured patients serving as a Surgery First Assist in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery.

Performs very invasive procedures and requires high level of independent clinical decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart AssociationAmerican Heart Association, NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants - American Association of Physician AssistantsAmerican Association of Physician Assistants Must have a Physician Assistant Certificate to Practice in Ohio and maintain this Certification from the state Medical Board of Ohio.

Must have and maintain a current Certification from a national certifying body (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) and maintain this Certification . Must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
