A leading West African manufacturer and supplier of plastic materials with operations in Cote D’Ivoire and Togo is diversifying into food production projects. The first project is production of tomato products in Togo bordering Ghana, Benin, and Burkina Faso. The capital is Lomé. Tomato is the highest consumed fruit in West Africa. Over 60% is consumed in processed form. Become part of a dynamic team to establish and maintain this multi-million-dollar development utilising state of the art technology. Job Summary Provides full engineering and technical support for the plant to operate at optimum Operational Equipment Efficiencies (OEE). Qualifications and Skills:

Tertiary qualification in an Engineering field.

Experience working in food production and processing.

Food safety, quality assurance experience.

Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance standards will be an advantage.

Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance and Operational Equipment Efficiencies

Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience working in food production, processing or industrial manufacturing.

Microsoft Office, computer literate, CAD, and ERP or database systems.

Proficient in English (French will be an advantage).

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:

Identify, appoint, and develop local talent to perform maintenance tasks, operate machinery, equipment, utilities, and other technical related tasks.

Manage OEE to achieve world class standards:

Plant utilisation. i.e., Net Operating Time

Availability, i.e., Running Time / Net Operating Time

Performance, i.e., Actual Output / Target Output

Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance programs.

Along with production, quality, and food safety management, manage, monitor, achieve, and maintain:

Right First-Time quality output, i.e., In Specification Production / Total Production including Quality Rejects

Manufacturing Controllable Cost (MCC)

HACCP and Food Safety Quality Management System in conjunction with the QA/Food Safety Manager

Continuous Improvement Programmes

Housekeeping systems such as 5S

Personal, staff, visitors, contractors Health and Safety i.e., Lost Time Incident Frequency Rate Month / MT (LTIFR) and Incident Free Days

Sustainability

Direct CO2 Emission

Water usage

Energy consumed

Waste produced (Waste disposed + water recycled + waste stored on site)
