Position Title: Intake Specialist

Position Reports to: Front Office Coordinator

Position Summary:

This position is full time Intake Specialist position that rotates through multiple office operations positions to support the practice. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide excellent service to our patients on the phone, and in person.

Summary Primary Responsibilities- Office Operations:

A. Patient Services- Scheduling appointments, answering phones, greeting patients

B. Patient check in and oversight of patient medical records, including collection of office copays and outstanding balances

C. Prepare patient medical records, pull medical records for physician teams

D. Code and file record information in appropriate order

E. Analyze records for completeness and maintain filing system

F. Maintain patient confidentiality

G. Maintain medical records in accordance with published record retention standards

H. Administrative support including copying, filing, and data entry

I. Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A. One year customer service/ reception experience in health care setting preferred

B. Health care insurance and medical terminology preferred

C. Worker s Compensation, and Medicare experience preferred

D. Critical thinking and decision making skills required

E. Strong communication skills

F. Personal computer skills preferred (Microsoft Office and Windows)

G. Detail oriented and highly dependable

H. Orthopedic experience preferred

I. Office phone experience preferred

J. Ability to type 30 words per minute required

Physical Demands by Position:

This position regularly requires the employee stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear. Bending and lifting to 30lbs may be required to complete certain tasks in regarding to filing or equipment troubleshooting. Specific vision requirements consist of close vision, distant vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

A. Business Professional Attire is required
