Land Surveyor

Urban is currently seeking an experienced Party Chief in its Survey Department in our Chantilly, VA location.

provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Responsibilities & Requirements will include: Manage and lead a field survey team performing boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking.

Ability to work both independently and in a leadership capacity as part of a field team.

Responsible for adjusting and operating surveying instruments and recording survey measurements and descriptive data.

Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems.

Possesses a high degree of understanding of the principles and practices of surveying.

Communicates in a timely and effective manner within the team and with other disciplines working on the project.

Ability to maintain a high-performance level in a fast-paced, accountable environment.

Attention to the details while maintaining efficiency is paramount.

Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing.
