Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Job Description

An urgent care in the Newport News, Virginia area is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with pediatricians to provide high-quality care to infants, children, and teenagers presenting with common pediatric illnesses, minor injuries, and lacerations.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with pediatricians to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients.

Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.

Provide appropriate treatment and medications, including suturing and wound care.

Educate patients and families on preventive care and health promotion.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.

Qualifications:

Current Virginia license as a Physician Assistant.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Interest in working in pediatrics.
