Salary:
Established in 2009 by Steve Casey, Casey Construction is a Commercial Drywall & Floor Prep contractor built upon a family tradition of building relationships and providing quality interior finishes. Casey provides services all throughout the metro Washington, DC area and Raleigh, North Carolina. Our projects range across a variety of industries including life sciences, healthcare, law, government, and technology, which primarily consist of tenant fit-outs and interior renovations.
Position Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees and personnel on site. This position works closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Field Operations to guarantee that Casey’s safety policies and procedures are executed.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Field Operations.
Responsibilities:
Supervise team of safety professionals
Safety Inspections (Compliance)
Enforce safety compliance on sites including specific local, state and federal safety standards
Field observations - Identify possible/known hazards and recommend remedial action
Ensure safety logs/files are up-to-date
Make sure all safety equipment and signs are provided to project sites
Assist in OSHA inspections on site
Safety Training/Support
Work with Superintendents and others to develop job specific safety plans
Jobsite employee training, as needed
Customer Relationships
Form and preserve positive working relationships with GC’s and other subcontractors
Participate in meetings, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant construction safety experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
OSHA 510
Training in fall protection and scaffolding
First Aid/CPR certified (or ability to obtain in first 3 months of start date)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently
Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to work different schedules and be flexible in scheduling when needed
Preferred Qualifications: A degree in Safety and Health or a related field. BCSP Safety Certification – Certified Safety Professional, Construction Health, and Safety Technician
