About the job:

Radiology Support performs a variety of clerical functions to maintain smooth operation of the Radiology clerical and film/ Image file areas.

What we are looking for:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

· Licensure / Certification:

· Experience: Prior work experience in a Radiology Department or Health Care field preferred.

· Effective Communication Skills

· Computer competency required.

· Knowledge of medical terminology preferred with the ability to grasp detailed procedures and technical language.

· Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision

What you will do:

· Supports patient care in imaging services, ensures an environment of patient safety, supports evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

· Responsible for entering on-line orders in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for tracking/validation of Radiology report completion.

· Performs all film file room and clerical support functions associated with the release of imaging studies to physician offices and other facilities for continuity of care. Other Job Responsibilities

· Attends in-service programs and departments meetings.

· Follows guidelines for Radiation Safety as outlined in MCHS Radiation Safety Manual.

· Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.

· All other duties as assigned.
