Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

The DC Manager is responsible for leadership of all operations performed at the Southaven Nidec Facility. The DC Manager must be self-motivated, promote good morale and productivity, and maintain a high level of communication with the Senior Manager of Warehouse Operations. The DC Manager will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in productivity, on-time delivery, quality, safety, maintenance, and training principles.

This position manages a distribution environment that consists of salaried, hourly, and temp employees. This position requires the ability to perform all responsibilities in a safe, accurate and timely manner in accordance with Safety policy & procedures, Quality and the principles of 6S3Q, and time standards. Regular attendance is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the role.

Position reports to the Senior Manager of Warehouse Operations, working as part of the Southaven management team to drive continuous improvement using metrics to achieve logistics excellence in service, quality and cost.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the safe receipt, storage and retrieval and timely dispatch of goods.

Full responsibility to achieve and sustain desired reliability and service levels of the distribution center.

Ensure work place health and safety standards are met and maintained in accordance with established rules and guidelines.

Establish productivity goals, standards and key measurement techniques.

Plan the arrangement of goods within the distribution center, ensure productivity and on time delivery targets are met.

Direct the development and implementation of Logistical programs and business and financial strategies.

Work with division to resolve technical issues to include quality issues.

Establish and monitor cost control programs and inventory control procedures.

Lead direct and indirect staff to include resolving employee issues, training and development and corrective actions.

Prioritizing, planning, delegating and controlling work flow.

Develop work plans to ensure appropriate staffing level, managing overtime and turnover.

Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.

Take responsibility for the security of the building, equipment and maintenance.

Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Insure compliance with all aspects of Trade Compliance, Governmental regulations, ISO, OSHA, Safety programs, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field, MBA preferred

Six Sigma, Lean, 6S, NAFTA, Trade Compliance, CTPAT

Prior experience with warehouse, distribution or facilities management required.

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience.

Prior experience managing multi location facility preferred.

Knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing processes is required.

Experience with warehouse & Logistical technology systems needed. Oracle experience preferred.

Strong documentation experience effectively managing salaried and hourly staff.

Work history must show individual has strong communication, analytical, creative and problem-solving abilities.

Candidate should possess core competencies in Process Management, Inventory Control, Quality, Planning and Resource management.

Proven ability to analyze and interpret data, establish and meet deadlines, and respond to a changing environment.

Individual must be results and detail oriented.

Skills:

Computer literacy to include Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer)

Communication skills-ability to communicate with all levels within the organization to include customers, corporate office contacts, employees and managers.

Strong organizational skills

Analytical and planning skills

Ability to develop working relationships as a team builder and motivator, providing effective leadership

Excellent problem-solving skills

Physical Demands:

Position requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, talking in person and by phone or video; the stamina to work the shift as scheduled and on a regular basis, ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility with exposure to heat and/or cold in accordance with weather conditions, lifting large, small or awkwardly shaped items on a regular or repeated basis as needed, domestic and international travel by car, plane, train; extensive use of computer equipment.
