Description:

Responsible for daily operations of the infusion suite for the provision of effective patient care. Accountable for staff supervision and patient care management for the assigned unit/department. Identifies and accomplishes program goals and outcomes. Maintains regulatory and professional standards/requirements. Supports and maintains a cost effective, progressive and customer-focused service.Delivers excellent customer service utilizing Relationship Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Applies nursing process to the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Consistently collects and analyzes patient/significant other data. Records initial database, ongoing assessment, and evaluation of patient responses. Develops, revises, and documents plan of care including discharge planning in collaboration with the patient, significant others, and health care providers. Implements interventions in a manner to maintain consistency, patient dignity, privacy and safety. Assists with educating staff regarding the nursing process, documentation, and use of the clinical pathways Assist in the selection and management of resources for a defined work group. Participates in the selection and supervision of personnel. Assists with the completion of performance appraisals. Generates and/or participates in development of the departmental schedule and manages daily staffing operations. Investigates select budgetary variances and approves and documents staffing variances. Provides input for annual budget process. Monitors and maintains departmental cost-containment activities. Identifies and implements strategies to reduce operational cost Assists in implementing performance improvement activities. Operationalizes the QI/PI program for department. Facilitates staff PI/QI education and participation. Consistently communicates customer satisfaction results and recommends options and implements plans to enhance customer satisfaction. Researches and provides follow up regarding departmental incidents. Incorporates changes into practice and coaches and mentors others to do so. Recognizes opportunities for QI process, participates in the designs and implementation of the design of these processes Demonstrates and facilitates conflict resolution/problem solving and confrontation skills. Demonstrates resolution in service recovery. Facilitates building and preserving collaborative relationships, including staff mediation. Seeks constructive feedback and uses it to make positive changes. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills Provides leadership for the department in meeting organizational goals and objectives. Facilitates/monitors ongoing activities to meet regulatory standards. Demonstrates accountability and knowledge for departmental/organizational objectives. Promotes departmental philosophy and fosters a positive, caring and collegial environment. Assist in the development of and monitors program/clinical outcomes. Recommends options to enhance program/clinical outcomes. Coordinates departmental orientation, continuing education and clinical development. Monitors/reports compliance with departmental policies and procedures

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing preferred. EXPERIENCE:3 years as a Registered Nurse and 2 years in clinical specialty as defined by National Certification requirements.Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDCurrent North Carolina Registered Nurse license.National certification appropriate to area of specialty.PREFERREDDrivers License Valid Drivers LicenseBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
