SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION

The analyst supports the OUSD(A&S) Continuity Program Manager to ensure a comprehensive and integrated continuity program that enhances the integrity of the performance of essential functions and enables a more rapid and effective response to and recover from a catastrophic emergency.

Provide analytic support to OUSD(A&S) in the areas of continuity planning, training, exercise development and execution, strategy development, information fusion, readiness reporting, facility staffing, crisis management support, and knowledge management.

Provide expertise in implementing DoD Instruction 3020.42, “Defense Continuity Plan Development,” and DoD Directive 3020.26, “Department of Defense Continuity Programs” and related WHS and OSD policies.

Must be physically and mentally/emotionally (no fear of flying/heights) able to occasionally fly via helicopter, including unassisted entry and exit of the aircraft while the blades are rotating and engine(s) running.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Advanced degree in a discipline relevant to the position plus 7 years of experience or equivalent.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Top Secret Clearance.

Ability to coordinate legislative analysts, ensure quality support, and assign tasks within the team according to government priorities.

Experience working on the Hill or in congressional relations

Strong writing skills are required.

Familiarity with OUSD(A&S) staff and structure

Familiarity with DoD organizational structure in general and Office of the Secretary of Defense in particular as evidenced by regular interaction with components across DoD.

Ability to present information in the form of written and verbal summaries.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to work independently and in small teams in a high operational tempo under strict time constraints.
