Position Summary

Using AutoCAD Electrical, prepare electrical schematics from I/O list and part list ensuring completeness and accuracy. In addition, perform lay out, assembly and wiring of electrical panels. Assist in debugging and installation of machine and/or process control systems.

Primary Responsibilities and Job Duties

Draw electrical schematics using proper design practices

Prepare parts lists, bills of material and order parts

Lay out and wire electrical panels according to schematics and customer specifications

Create wire lists, wire bundles and label using good workmanship practices

Perform basic testing of electrical systems.

Special assignments as requested

Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC and UL codes. Will provide UL 508A training.

With the addition of using Autodesk inventor for back panel and enclosure layouts.

Hiring Qualifications

A 2 year degree in electronics, electricity or related area, or at least 4 years of relevant experience. (We were not necessarily looking for an engineer to fill this position but technician level for this position.)

A minimum of one year of experience with PC-based software such as Word and Excel.

Ability to draw electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical software.

Ability to us AutoCad Inventor for back panel and enclosure layouts.

Experience in machine wiring and panel wiring/layout.

Experience using powered hand tools and electrical instruments including soldering iron, voltmeters, drills, saws, etc.

Ability to travel to customer facilities for design, installation and service-related activities.

Physical Demands

Extended hours sitting and viewing a computer screen.

Frequent repetitive hand/wrist movements.

Frequent walking, bending, squatting, reaching and lifting for extended periods of time.

Occasional lifting and moving of parts up to 50 pounds waist high.
