ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems for cutting and spreading machines in accordance with established product inputs
Also supports Sustaining Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Support to Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing Production Control and Sales for existing products
Assists to design, develop, analyze, and document product designs to meet the functional, quality, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements
Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components and systems as a part of new Product development
Supports project success by meeting schedule, budget, performance, and quality requirements
Assists in the creation of project technical file documentation that includes drawings, engineering files, supplier communications and Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)
Participates in product design reviews and risk assessment
Ensures designs meet the requirements of all regulatory requirements (CE UL/CSA)
Provides production support to maintain quality and production output
Provides technical support to Manufacturing, Production Control, Purchasing, Tech Service and Sales as required
Required Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years of mechanical design experience
Successfully completed coursework and demonstrates proficiency relative to several to the following:
Structural, enclosure, electromechanical/motion control system design
A solid understanding of the principles of heat transfer and fluid flow
An understanding of fabrication techniques such as machining, bent metal, welding
Knowledge of the application of industry design and documentation standards (ASME, GD&T)
Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (SolidWorks), AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and other MS Office products
