Senior Network Security Engineer

Insight Global is looking for Senior Network Security Engineer to join one of our clients in Chesapeake, VA. The Senior Network Security Engineer works under the general supervision of the IS manager to help create and manage an integrated program that safeguards the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of all health system information resources. The installation, configuration, upkeep, and troubleshooting of all relevant IT security systems and components are among the responsibilities that are in question. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

* Working to support the enterprise security applications and systems as well as the enterprise firewall and intrusion detection / prevention systems.

* Working to participate in investigations into problematic activity and interprets implications of the activity for appropriate resolutions.

* Working collaboratively to design and execute vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.

* Reviewing logs and reports of all in place devices to ensure the effectiveness of security solutions.

* Providing routine systems analysis and security audits.

* Assisting in developing information protection procedures and guideline to support the information security program.

* Effectively planning and managing assigned activities to ensure that objectives and schedules are met.

* Providing on call technical support as necessary.

* Maintaining knowledge of IT security related initiatives and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

* Professional understanding of responsibility domains (including theories, principles, and concepts) typically obtained by completing a Bachelor's degree in computer networking, computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field, together with 5 or more years of relevant professional experience.

* Demonstrates experience with email encryption, PHI filtering, firewall configuration, IDS implementation, upkeep, and upgrades, as well as the required content filtering and anti-spam/virus software.

* Familiarity with the following Cisco security appliances: Umbrella, SecureX, ISE, Agari, FTD, and Cisco Defense Orchestrator.

* Familiarity with doing security audits and evaluations of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and networks in order to detect and reduce risks.

* Knowledge of SOC operations and SIEM technology.

* Familiarity with at least one of the platform frameworks and security measures offered by cloud service providers (AWS, Azure).

* Familiarity with setting up and managing.

* Will consider CISCO or Microsoft Certification.

* Sec+ min
